The realization came quickly, although what seems quick, often takes longer than usual. Rarely do those moments, movie moments of a clarity so distinct you can taste it in the back of your throat, truly come to pass. It does seem like so much smoke clearing, a lightening of bones.
Lightning of bones--typo.
I like this strange distortion of thought brought about by the age of technology. Lightning of bones. Brings images of small cracks and flashes of light as I walk. Limbs buzzing with radioactive awareness. Like the rhythmic clicks of so much African language awake with bright palms and hair wrapped tight enough to force a smile.
